What is Tai Chi and Qi Gong?

Tai Chi and Qi Gong are gentle, low-impact exercises. They focus on slow, flowing movements, deep breathing, and mindfulness. These practices are especially beneficial for improving balance, flexibility, and overall wellbeing—perfect for older adults or anyone looking for a safe, relaxing way to stay active.

👟 What should I wear to a class?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Flat, supportive shoes like trainers or Tai Chi slippers are ideal.

🧘 What can I expect in a typical class?

Each class usually includes:

  • Gentle warm-up exercises

  • A series of slow, guided movements

You’ll be guided at your own pace, with time to ask questions. All movements can be modified for different mobility levels, including seated options.

 

🧓 Is Tai Chi or Qi Gong suitable if I have health issues?

Yes! These practices are known for being safe and adaptable for people with arthritis, joint pain, balance challenges, or other conditions. Please let your instructor know about any medical concerns before class so they can support you properly.

 

🕰️ How long is each session?

Most classes run between 45 to 60 minutes, including warm-up and doing the movements. 

 

👥 Do I need any experience?

No experience is needed. Our classes are beginner-friendly and taught by instructors experienced in working with older adults. Everyone is welcome, no matter your level of fitness or flexibility.

 

🧍 Do I need special equipment?

No special equipment is required. Just bring yourself and a bottle of water.
